This is another look that I did for my nails class today. I wanted to yet again wear something that would match with what I was wearing that wasn’t going to look really out of place. I wanted to use one of the new eye shadows I got from the Love that Look Collection that I hadn’t tried out on my eyes yet and paired it with Club, a brown eye shadow with green duochrome, which is a colour that I really love but hardly ever get to use.

One-Off eye shadow (Love That Look Collection – I really love the formula of these “Starflash” finish eye shadows, they are so creamy and lovely to work with)
Fresh Approach eye shadow (Photo Realism quad – Makeup Art Collection)
Club eye shadow
Carbon eye shadow
Vanilla eye shadow
Smolder eyeliner
Loreal liquid liner in Black

So I thought this look was awesome so as with yesterdays photo of the day, I may make a tutorial on it. I have been coming up with a few good tutorials lately I just never get around to filming them which sucks. But never fear, I will have more videos really soon I pinky promise! Enjoy!

I did this makeup for my nails class. I chose to used some of the new eye shadows that I got from MAC’s Makeup Art Collection. This was done using the Photo Realism quad, which I am really liking at the moment. I created a nice smokey look which was dark on the lid and blended out to a light olive in the crease. Even though its an unwritten rule not to do this, I matched my eye shadows to what I was wearing to the class, which I tend to do a lot because I am a rebel that way.

I really loved this look. It is a nice look for Autumn (or Fall for the Americans) and it kind of matched the weather here at the moment considering it feels more like Autumn and not Spring. Enjoy!

Nails of the Day: October 13th, 2009 – China Glaze “Shower Together”

I swear one day I will have finished swatching these nail polishes for you guys I just don’t know when. I am the kind of person who doesn’t want to apply a nail polish just to take it off five seconds later to reapply another polish to show people, I feel that it is a waste of product. That is the reason it is taking me so long to do these.

Today’s nail polish is China Glaze “Shower Together”. It is a bluey-teal cream nail polish. I don’t have that many blues and greens as nail polish because I feel that they can sometimes make your nails look diseased and yucky, but this is not one of those colours. It applied slightly patchy on the first coat, but when I applied a second, it came up as true as what you see in the bottle.

I had to take off my acrylic nails and give them a rest for a while so I decided to just start painting my natural nails lately. I am liking the cream finish nail polishes a lot recently, I have no idea why.

Kat’s Latest Manicure: Purple Glitter French with Rhinestones and Spangles (September 18th, 2009)

So after seeing my nails that I have previously posted about, my sister Kathryn decided that she wanted to have her own nails done. He wanted hers to be a bit more blinged up than I had mine so I added lavender rhinestones that I recently purchased to the smile line.

I embeded the spangles using a UV top coat and then placed another layer over then to be able to sit the rhinestones on top. When the top coat cured, the rhinestones were stuck in place nicely.

The acrylic that I used to create these nails was called “Iris” from the Nfu Oh Micro Slice Glitter Collection II. I purchased the purple open-heart spangles at the Expo in Sydney and bought the rhinestones from a seller on eBay.

My Latest Set of Nails: September 17th, 2009

I have been really enjoying using some new products I’ve bought recently and have also been really into a glitter French tip. As you know from previous posts, I went to Sydney a while ago and bought a few bits and pieces of nail art stuff. I used some og the open-heart spangles that I bought at the Expo to bling up my green glitter French nails.

If you are wondering what kind of acrylic it is, its Nfu Oh Micro Slice glitter in “Peppermint” from the Micro Slice Collection II. I think that these are my favorite acrylics I have bought yet.

Kat’s Neutral Dramitic Look: August 21st, 2009

This was a look I did for my sister when she was going out with her boyfriend for dinner. She wanted something that was neutral and wearable with a little bit of drama to it. I used a no name brand of false lashes to add the drama because I’ve been using false lashes in all of the looks I’ve been doing lately.

I was in a bad mood one day before my nail class and decided to express my anger in my make-up. I had an eye shadow by MAC called “Mi’ Lady” that I hadn’t used in a while and decided to use the red from the duo to create and interesting look. The red contrasted with the green of my eyes and made them stand out heaps more than normal. When I got to class, I asked one of the other girls to put false lashes on me because I felt that the look needed something else.

These photos were taken after the class so I don’t have a photo of the full face, but the eyes are what I like to focus on anyway.

Kat’s Acrylic Sculptures and Pedicure: August 18th, 2009

I took my sister in as a model for the nail class and did a set of acrylic sculptures on her. She decided when we got home that she didnt want a pink and white French manicure so she searched though my nail polishes and picked out China Glaze “Ruby Pumps”. After applying the nail polish I gave her a pedicure and applied Ruby Pumps to her toe nails so they would match her nails. The looked really fancy
